Education Committee "Adopt-A-School Program

Education is the key to lifting our Salvadoran sisters and brothers out of poverty.  There are 15 schools within the Santo Domingo parish boundaries in the municipality of Chilitupan.  Our sister school, Santo Domingo, is the largest school in Chilitupan with an enrollment of over 500 students taught by 30 staff members.  Other schools in the municipality are small two or three room school houses with two teachers for 50 kids.

To support the educational efforts at these 15 schools, St. Dominic launched the “Adopt-a-School” Program pairing St. Dominic parishioners with schools in Chilitupan.  We are blessed in that each school has been adopted but more help is needed.  Additional funding, technology, books, resources, and infrastructure will enhance students’ formation.
