St. Dominic Experience in Montgomery & Selma with Catholic Mobilizing Network

“In many parts of the world, there is a need for paths of peace to heal open wounds. There is also a need for peacemakers, men and women prepared to work boldly and creatively to initiate processes of healing and renewed encounter.” (Pope Francis, Fratelli Tutti).

On this trip, you will:

  • Further your knowledge of the history of the Civil Rights Movement where key events happened, with community members who were present.
  • Understand the connection between the history of slavery and racial terror, and the modern-day system of mass incarceration and capital punishment.
  • Learn about efforts to reform the U.S. criminal legal system.
  • Pray and discern how Catholics can play a more active role in truth-telling to move our nation towards justice and healing.
