As many of you know, each Sunday the 11:15am mass is broadcast “live” through our Livestream video technology on our parish website. The recorded mass is then put in the archives so that those who are not able to watch the video live can view it at a later time. This service has helped so many who are homebound or hospitalized as they can share in the celebration of our Sunday Eucharist. Many parishioners have written me notes of thanks, even commenting that their homebound mother or father in another city watches the mass every week!
We have also been able to livestream funeral masses, the Christmas concert and other events so that relatives and friends from out of town can feel part of the event. As grateful as so many are for this service, they have also commented that the sound quality could be better as well as the video screen shot. After watching the mass on the archives, I would agree, yet I am at a loss as to how to address the problem. I know there must be some technology-savvy parishioner out there who can help us to get the right equipment to improve the quality and sound of this video. If that is your area of expertise, please contact Jim Carr at 216-255-7029 to share your thoughts so we can better serve our community. Thank you!
Our Block Party is fast approaching and the various committees are working hard to make this a great celebration. Please help them by filling out the registration form in today’s bulletin and returning it to the rectory. We need to rent chairs and tables, give the caterer a food count, and plan the various activities for the evening. I know this seems far off, but it is only a few weeks away and your prompt return of the registration form would be greatly appreciated!
Next Sunday is “Donut Sunday” at St. Dominic. Please plan to stay after one of the masses and join us in the school cafeteria. It’s a great way to meet new parishioners and a donut does not have that many calories! Hope to see you there.
