“For I was a stranger and you welcomed me.” (Matthew 25:35)
Welcome Ministry seeks to make all people feel at home at St. Dominic, both new members as well as long-time parishioners. It involves the following aspects:
Welcome Team- group of parishioners who desire to shape St. Dominic into a community with an ever greater welcoming atmosphere. They meet on a quarterly basis and plan events such as a Welcome Dinner.
Welcome Prayer Ministry – The volunteers to this ministry have no meetings to attend! A quarterly mailing will be sent to your home, and you will be asked to pray for the new families who registered during that 3 month period.
Parish Partners – parish volunteers willing to be paired with new members of the parish. They call new members and introduce themselves, meet up with them at St. Dominic events such as a Coffee and Donut Sunday or the Block Party.
Meal Ministry – offers short-term support by preparing and delivering meals to individuals and families going through stressful situations such as hospitalization/serious illness, death, or birth/adoption.
Mass Greeters – On various occasions (such as holidays), Mass Greeters stand at the entrances to the church and welcome parishioners. Greeters are the “first face” of our Church to those entering. This is a great opportunity for families!
